DISCLAIMER: I am not saying that I depend on all these items, gadgets, formulas and stuff when I run. I can run without them. But I do believe that each run should be a quality run. I run because I want to push my limits and be better each time I hit the pavement. I run to excel, I do not jog to go sightseeing. My enjoyment is beating my time, challenging myself. That’s why I take advantage of the studies and new technology that is available, to make each run–the most perfect run it can be. Hence, these REVIEWS–
I knew I needed a sports watch just a few weeks when I started getting serious in running. Since I invested for a good New Balance running shoe, which was my priority, that left me with no funds for a few weeks. Luckily, my sister gave me a slightly used Speedo Sports Watch. My first running chronograph and stopwatch.
Design: The watch feels very solid, the whole watch body is made from a single piece of rubber without any cuts, gaps or hinges, save for the glass display on the watch face. The four buttons are all water-tight. The matte grey finish looks nice with a neon yellow Speedo logo. The watch feels light yet doesn’t feel cheap. The strap fits nicely snug on my wrist because it’s pre-molded.
Features: The watch features digital quartz movement, a large easy-to-read positive dark-on-light numbers, dual time feature, 1/100-second digital chronograph, interval timer, alarm mode, EL backlight, digital day-date-and-month display. And being a Speedo watch, it is waterproof up to 100 meters.
Overall this watch is awesome for running. The big display makes it easy to glance on your lap time while running at full speed, not distracting you from the road at all. The simple controls are a breeze to operate. I particularly like the EL lighting as it lights just the digits a high-tech blue, not the whole watch face. I also like the secure fit in my wrists, and be it sweat, mud, or rain, you can be sure it will just keep on ticking. A really rugged watch for everyday running.
